Here's how it works...every Wednesday, I post a picture of something I saw at a thrift store, estate or yard sale, etc. Then, I'd like to hear from you - would you buy it? Tell me why or why not and what you would do with it (fix it up, repurpose, etc.). THEN, (here's where the linky party comes in!), you can post a link to something YOU found and get us to weigh in. Anytime I walk away from a sale or store I'm always wondering "if someone else was with me, what would they have bought? did I miss a hidden treasure?". So this is just a way for us to do that virtually.
For this week, I have a couple interesting items. They were $10 each but were in rough shape.
I told you they were rough! I've honestly never bought chairs like these for a project. I see you guys do it though and it inspires me! So...Would you buy these?
Now, Here's How YOU Can Participate:
- Comment on my post; let me know if you would buy the item I blogged about above.
- Create your own blog post re: an item(s) you saw this week while you were out thrifting/shopping/junking.
- Link up to your post below to invite all of blogville to weigh in on your find(s)! You have until Saturday at Midnight ET.
- Please grab the "Would You Buy it Wednesday" linky button below OR at least include a link back to my blog.
- Check out what others are linking up below and let them know if YOU would buy it!
Most of all, have fun! Can't wait to see what you guys link up this week!

As pretty as it is, no. Upholstering scares me to death. :0
ReplyDeleteGood luck,
Lisa
I probably would not have bought the chairs because big projects like that aren't in my comfort zone. I also try to not bring any big items home because my husband is just coming around to all this "junk" in the house....I need to work up to bigger pieces :)

yeah, I'd give them a try if they were cheap. I am working on a recover job now, its not as hard as I thought!
ReplyDeleteNope, not ready to tackle reupholstering yet. But I am sure there are those out there that would love this challenge.
ReplyDeleteI have picked up some chairs like that at the curb, but still haven't gotten around to the reupholstery project! But yeah, I if I liked the shape I would definitely buy them at that price. You really can't go wrong if the piece is solid.
ReplyDeleteI just found you through Chipping with Charm, and decided to link up. Hope you don't mind curb shopped items...I'm always wondering if I should pick something up or not, and what I should do with it when I do pick it up!
I definitely would have bought the second chair. I'm not sure my reupholstery skills could handle the first one.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. I just accidentally posted the gold frame twice. Oops. Would you mind removing one for me.
ReplyDeleteI would not buy them since I don't do upholstery! I'm sure someone could make them gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteAs gorgeous as the bones are, I am not at that level of transformation at this point! :) Those need someone with a much higher level of upholstery skills than I have! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a little upholstery experience under my belt and would like to tackle something bigger so I think i would have bought one (I'm also a pack rat!). The base is beautiful and there are so many gorgeous fabrics out there. Please give it a shot and show afters... and a tutorial! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to tackle upholstery. I think its great
ReplyDeletewhen it's done im sure it will be beautiful and i cant wait to see it done.

Love the chairs, and would buy them if I did not have soooo many other projects ahead of me already! Have fun

OMG! I've never done furniture upholstering so would have been way too scared to buy those chairs! Looking forward to their new look =)

I'm a new follower and have been enjoying the Would You Buy it Wednesday Posts! Though I have done upholstery work, I would have had to bypass these, as I have too many other projects waiting to be finished already. I have to try to restrain myself since my husband does not see junk waiting to be transformed with the same vision that I do!
ReplyDeleteI would totally buy that blue chair...LOVE the wood arms...you can do so much and for that price!!!....just linked up to the party...thanks for hosting...Mariaelena
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have bought them because I don't do upholstery. I agree with "Out Junking"-upholstery scares me to death too! :)
ReplyDeleteI would definitely by the 2nd set. (blue ones)
ReplyDeleteI could handle the reupholstering on that item.
The first set is more than I feel I could handle.
I love it! What a fun link party. Wow, I have a whole garage, side yard, and half a room upstairs of "would you but its", the answer to most people is probably not, but I would! I especially love the plate with a hole in it.....I am your newest follower, come check me out when you get a chance. Have a great weekend. -K PS, hopped over from "confessions of a curbshopaholic"...hmmmm, I thought that was my title!
ReplyDeletePS I do a link party for "Redouxs" on Friday, please link up! I am sure you have a ton of fabulous things to share.
